Grant and Jenni Brewster

Grant and Jenni Brewster's arrival at Island Church was an answer to prayer - theirs and ours. Grant and Jenni arrived from New Zealand in October 2002 having previously pastored Seaview Christian Center (a church they founded in Christchurch, New Zealand) for nineteen years. They thought they were on their way to Africa but God had other plans for them. They have three children; Benjamin, Katie (living in New Zealand) and Rebecca living with them in the States.

Grant enjoys sports, reading and being with people. Jenni loves gardening, crafts of all descriptions and is an avid student of God’s Word!

They have a number of passions – the presence of God; the Word of God; they love being with people and being involved in missions. They have spoken in a number of countries – Ghana, Malaysia, Russia (the Far East), Uganda, Zambia and Kenya.

Their dream for Island Church is that it be a place where God’s presence is experienced, lives are changed, obedience to God’s Word is a priority, and where we extravagantly express our love for God and one another.

Leighton and Rhonda Harder

Leighton has been involved in students' lives for the past 14 years. Leighton and his family moved to the Island two years ago and have enjoyed every moment of their new life here. Leighton gets excited when he can incorporate his love for hockey and coffee into his passion to see students fall in love with Christ. His desire is to see students step out in faith as they follow Him. Some of his hobbies are reading, drinking coffee, and playing or coaching hockey. He is thankful for his beautiful wife (Rhonda) and three great kids!

Rhonda is the Children's Pastor for EXTREME 2:6 which is our Children's Department at Island Church. She oversees the nursery department through grade 6. Her desire is to help kids be all that God intended them to be, and to "...walk as Jesus did." (I John 2:6)

Rhonda is a musician and vocalist and leads youth worship at 180 (High School Ministry). Rhonda also teaches piano, is fluent is ASL, and has led various Children's Ministries in both Canada and the US. Her hobbies are running and playing guitar.

Leighton and Rhonda have been married for 14 years and reside on the Island with their three children, Evan, Bryce, and Coral.
