OBERG PRAISE N PRAY – Feb 16,
2008
PRAISE God for an excellent evangelism
seminar in Ndorola! It was well attended and during the evangelism
on Saturday night, several people came to Christ! We are rejoicing
as there were well over 125 people in church on Sunday in Ndorola! (Although
many of these are also from villages surrounding Ndorola, we remember those
beginning days in the fall of 2005 when there was an average attendance
of 6-8! PRAISE God for what HE is doing in this village and in the
surrounding area!) Please PRAY for Pastor Samuel and Elizabeth as
they oversee the ministry there and for the believers as they reach out
to those around them.
Please PRAY as Kevin and Toby head
to Dingasso (next to Ndorola) for evangelism this Thursday-Sunday (K the
first half/T the second). God is moving in a miraculous way in this
village! A month ago, the Alliance Women’s group held the first
evangelism ever in that village and now there are roughly 40 people following
Christ! Because the hand of God is moving, we feel it is important
to continue on when the harvest is so ripe. PRAY for further fruit
and for Pastor Samuel as he oversees this group.
PRAISE God for further freedom!
A witch doctor in Banakoro (next to Samorogouan) has come to Christ
and has burned all of his fetishes. Please PRAY that his testimony
would be strong and that he would grow in his new faith. PRAY for
Pastor Fidele as he disciples him.
PRAY for health and strength for
our pastors as they are busy working with a lot of new believers. We
are thankful that our pastors are motivated and seeking opportunities to
share Christ—please PRAY for wisdom for them in the situations that they
face. Because they are reaching out to villages surrounding their
home village, there is much work to be done! PRAY for wisdom for
them as they balance busy schedules.
PRAISE God that the construction
of the church in Temetemeso is advancing and the believers are actively
involved with helping out. Please PRAY for protection as the church
is built and that these believers would continue to grow in their faith
as they await their new pastor.
Please PRAY for Bonnie as she continues
to have a very busy schedule doing school in the morning with the kids
and bookkeeping training in the afternoons. This will continue on
for about another month, and then it will be full scale into packing and
getting ready for home assignment. There is so much to do in the
next 2 ½ months—PRAY that we don’t stress out as we try to tackle it
all! Pray that we will get the rest that we need in order to keep
us plugging along and that we will have joy in our hearts as we do so.
