OBERG PRAISE N PRAY – Feb 9, 2008

PRAISE God for the two night of evangelism in Temetemeso.  One man put his faith in Christ, and we PRAY that many more will follow in these days as people reflect over what they have heard.

PRAISE God that Pastor Solomon’s time with the Temetemeso believers was encouraging.  He will most likely be moving out there in April, if all goes well.  Please PRAY for his wife, who is pregnant and will have a baby in April.  This family lost a 6 year old daughter suddenly this past year due to meningitis.  Please PRAY for special protection over their other four children, and for a healthy pregnancy and delivery for Solomon’s wife and baby.

The evangelism in Nimberla yielded no “fruit”, but we trust that seeds were planted.  Toby and the Sirasso church had to deal with a difficult family situation where a girl in Temetemeso ran away from home because her father wanted her to marry a man who was working for him that she did not want to marry.  (Only the girl is a believer out of the three.)  The girl ended up going back to her father, but he is very upset with her because he says he would never have forced her to marry the guy and can’t understand why she ran away.  Please continue to PRAY for this situation, that somehow God would be glorified and that this girl’s family would come to Christ.

PRAISE God that the situation we asked you to pray for last week with Silas seems to be resolved.  He has returned to church and has reconciled with those with whom he was angry.  Please continue to PRAY that God would work in his life and that he would grow in his faith and relationship with the Lord.

PRAY for Kevin and Toby as they head to Ndorola Friday-Sunday for an evangelism seminar with the church there, as well as evangelism two nights in the village.  This church has shown tremendous growth in recent months—not only numerically, but also spiritually.  Continue to PRAY for Pastor Samuel and Elizabeth as they minister there.

PRAISE God that the well digging in our courtyard will be finished tomorrow!!  They had to dig a lot deeper than we were expecting—100 feet!!!  We PRAISE God for his protection over the workers and all those in our courtyard (including the kids!).

The bookkeeping training is going well and we’ll post the books on time this month!  Thanks for praying!
