OBERG PRAISE N PRAY – January
26, 2009
PRAISE God for a good 4 nights
of evangelism, split between two villages near Jengenebougou. About
15 people responded to the good news of Jesus! Please PRAY for them,
that they would grow in their new found faith and stand strong.
Please PRAY for the village of
Jengenebougou and those who made decisions to follow Christ last week.
They are facing strong persecution from members of the village to
recant and many are wavering in the decision that they made. Kevin
was encouraged that someone from that group came to the church this last
weekend to ask questions. Please PRAY that these new believers will
remain strong in their decision and get the support that they need from
other believers.
PRAISE God that there has been
progress in Nema’s deliverance from the evil spirits. The majority
of them have left, although there are still some remaining. The good
thing is that she is now mostly “coherent,” where the pastor is able
to talk directly with her. She has experienced some head trauma from
beating her head during the worst times. Please PRAY for complete
freedom for her, as well as for physical recovery from what she has gone
through. Your prayers have made a marked difference in her life—please
continue to PRAY that every evil spirit will leave and she will live in
total freedom in Christ.
Please PRAY for Kevin and Toby
as they head to Sirasso Friday-Monday for an evangelism seminar, as well
as for two nights of evangelism in that village. Pray especially
for the village chief, who has discouraged people from following Christ.
Thank you for praying for Bonnie’s
audit! There were no big surprises (yeah!) and it all went well.
Please PRAY as Bonnie trains colleague Mary Crowgey to take over
the bookkeeping for the year that she is in the US. We started training
this week—there is a lot to go over! (Mary will be taking on the
books full time mid-March.)
