OBERG PRAISE N PRAY – June 29, 2008

We PRAISE God for an excellent time with the Moses Lake team!  They had great attitudes and flexibility, in spite of some stomach illness that plagued most of them from time to time.  The youth pastor, Michael Alcorn, put together an excellent account of their trip with great pictures—go to http://michaeldavidalcorn.blogspot.com/ to see further how your prayers were answered.  Thanks for covering their time here in prayer!

PRAISE God that the Moses Lake VBS raised over $3600 in order to purchase 2 motorcycles for our pastors in the Kenedougou region, as well as contribute money toward the purchase of a motorcycle that will be used for evangelism during the year that we’re in the States.  This was such a blessing to us—way to go kids!!!

We PRAISE God for healing for Emma.  She came down with a bad case of malaria last Wednesday night and after three days of treatment is doing much better.  Two of our CMA colleagues here in Bobo have also suffered from malaria this past month, and you prayed for Emma 2 ˝ weeks ago as she was struggling with a minor case of it then.  Please continue to PRAY for God’s protection over us during this time.  As Peggy Drake, one of our C&MA nurses says, “Tis the season . . . .”

Please PRAY for Pastor Marcel.  He had complications after his surgery and is now back in Bobo for further testing.  He has lost about 15 pounds and is having to walk with a cane.  Please PRAY for God’s miraculous healing touch on this faithful servant.

PRAY for Kevin and Toby as they will be moving Pastor Fidele and his wife to Samorogouan on Tuesday.  His installation service will be on Sunday, July 6th.  Please PRAY that this will be a joyful time of celebration and that he and his wife will have a fruitful ministry in and around Samorogouan.

Please PRAY for Bonnie and the bookkeeping.  My first deadline is Monday (30th), and then a second deadline follows on July 10th.  This is the busiest and craziest time of year for me.  Please PRAY that nothing will slip through the cracks and that everything can be completed on time and with as little stress as possible.

And for those of you who are interested in the “fun” side of life out here, we are hosting our annual 4th of July bash here at the Oberg compound.  BBQ potluck followed by fellowship and games—should be a BLAST!!  :o)  Enjoy your 4th celebrations!
