OBERG PRAISE N PRAY – June 16, 2008

PRAISE God that the Moses Lake team has arrived in Burkina!  They had an uneventful trip, all of their luggage came through, and everyone is doing well.  Here is their team schedule so that you’ll have an idea of what they’ll be doing and can pray them through their time here (8 youth, 1 youth leader, 1 youth pastor--Michael Alcorn, for those who know him):

5/24 Thursday:  AM tour of Ouaga ministries—team flies out that night

We are excited that the Moses Lake church will be having their VBS during the time when the team is here—we hope to set up a video conference call during that time.  Their project is going to be raising money for some motorcycles for our pastors—one of them being for the new pastor of the Samorogouan church that the youth group has adopted.

We have just received the “official” word from the district that they are sending the new pastor to Samorogouan at the beginning of July.  Fidele and his wife have just recently graduated from Maranatha Bible Institute (one of our Bible schools here in Burkina), and he was number one in his class.  Please PRAY as we start working with them, that it will be a good working relationship and that God would greatly bless their ministry.

PRAISE God for a good meeting last week for Kevin and Toby with the Bobo district.  It was an excellent time for Kevin and Toby to report on all that God is doing in the Kenedougou region and for them to talk about issues facing the district and work in the Kenedougou region.  Please PRAY that the district will continue to send pastors into the region and that they will be actively involved in the work there.  They have a desire to do so, but see their financial limitations as too much of a hindrance.  Please PRAY that God will bless our National Church with the resources to advance His kingdom in Burkina and that those overseeing the finances would have wisdom and integrity.

Please PRAY for me and the bookkeeping—it’s the end of the fiscal year and time to finish everything up for this year and get started on the new year.  It’s always an insane time of the year for me—PRAY that nothing slips through the cracks and that I don’t stress!  :o)
