OBERG PRAISE N PRAY – April 14, 2008

Thank you for praying for the land situation in Samorogouan.  We’ll know more details later on this week, but apparently the parties involved met for a day and a half and the situation has been resolved.  We PRAISE God for this news, but are a bit leery as we move forward.  Please continue to PRAY!  The mason and his crew will be returning today and will continue building.  We’ll keep you posted!

PRAISE God for a new believer in Ndorola, a 50 year old Muslim man who stopped by to visit with Pastor Samuel!  You know how to PRAY for this new believer!

Kevin and Toby had a good trip to Sirasso and Temetemeso last Wednesday.  They received the encouraging news that 3 more men have accepted Christ in Temetemeso during the past 2 weeks.  They were also encouraged to arrive in Temetemeso to see the believers working on building the pastor’s house, along with many non-believers in the village who had come to lend a hand!

PRAISE God for a good Storying Seminar this week.  The pastors and lay leaders have received their materials and seem to be excited about going back to their villages and putting the storying into practice.  Please PRAY that many people would come to Christ through hearing of God’s love for mankind through these stories.

Please PRAY for Pastor Tychique and his family (from Badara), as they lost their 10 year old girl this past Wednesday.  She has had mental and health problems since birth, but we’re not sure what she passed away from.  Please also PRAY for Draman, one of our lay leaders in the Ndorola church.  He was in Bobo at the Storying Conference when he received word yesterday that his 10 year old boy drowned as he and his friends were crossing a reservoir.  Kevin drove Draman home and attended the burial service.  (In 2000, this family also lost another 10 year old child.)  Please PRAY for God’s comfort and peace to surround these two families during these difficult days.

PRAY for Kevin as he heads off for another evangelism campaign this Thursday-Sunday, in the villages of Kulenbougou and Sunkalobougou (next to Jengenebougou where we have a group of believers and hopefully a pastor coming later this spring).  PRAY that people will respond to the gospel message and that many will put their faith in Christ.  PRAY for the Bobo district as they decide who they will send to send to pastor these groups.

Please PRAY as we are in correspondence with a Christian School in Dallas, OR, about possible schooling for our kids during the 09-10 school year when we are in the States on our home assignment.  Please PRAY that God would give us wisdom as to what we should do for schooling that year.
