URGENT MID-WEEK PRAYER REQUEST

            Well, we’re reminded today that we are, indeed, in a spiritual battle!  With the great victory of people coming to Christ in Samorogouan over the weekend, we’ve now hit a serious roadblock that needs to be removed by prayer.  We are encountering problems with building the pastor’s house in Samorogouan and the property that we have acquired to do so.

            When the boundary markers were officially set for the property about a month ago, the older children of the “land chief” in Samorogouan came and angrily ripped up the markers, stating that they hadn’t been paid.  We had actually paid the mayor several weeks before, and he had neglected to give the money to the appropriate people right away.  So, after he gave the allotted money and explained what had happened, the family seemed fine and we were able to continue on.

            Well, the mason and 4 crew members started building the pastor’s house today, and the family of the land chief showed up again, angry and blocking the work.  One of the people in the church is a police officer, and so he went to get the appropriate authorities to help resolve the problem.  There is a meeting set with the mayor tonight.  Please PRAY that God will resolve this issue and it will not leave a bad testimony in this village.  Is it frustrating for us and the church, as we have followed all of the appropriate protocols and paid everyone who needs to be paid, including this land chief.  It could be that the family is greedy and wanting more money, but we feel very strongly that, ultimately, this is the hand of the enemy retaliating to the incredible work that God is doing in this village.  Please PRAY that the enemy will be bound and that this issue would be resolved quickly.
