OBERG PRAISE N PRAY – October 21, 2007

PRAISE God that Kevin has had such a great trip in the States.  However we are VERY thankful he will soon be on his way back to Africa!  He flies out of Seattle on Wednesday and will arrive in Ouaga early Friday morning.  Please PRAY that he will have a good trip, and that all of his luggage will arrive.  He will be bringing back a few extra suitcases, including equipment for the radio work (see below) and a cooler full of bacon, sausage, pepperoni, etc.!  YUM—can’t wait!

Please PRAY for Bonnie and the kids as they are traveling to Ouaga on Thursday to go get Kevin!  We will be accompanied by Sue Eshbaugh and her four kids, so we’ll have a car full of 8 children, ages 1-10!  Please PRAY for a safe travels—and for sanity for the moms!  :o)

PRAISE God for the exciting things happening with radio ministry in Burkina!  After years of “roadblocks,” our radio ministry in the country has expanded from 1 station (currently in Bobo) to an additional 3 more!!  Eric Eshbaugh (overseeing the ministry of Christian Radio for the CMA in West Africa) is currently helping set up one of those stations (in Tougan), and will soon be busy setting up the other two (in Nouna and Banfora).  Please PRAY that all will go smoothly, and that many people will be encouraged and reached with the gospel through this ministry.  Unfortunately, the Kenedougou region, where we work, does not have radio coverage—please PRAY that this will come to pass at some time in the future.  It would be a HUGE blessing to have radio in this area.

On the “personal” side, please PRAY with us as we are trying to sell our home in the States.  This will enable us to build a home on property Kevin’s parents have given to us.  We are hoping to start building this summer, so that our new home will be ready for us when we return to the States for our year of home assignment in May 2009.  It seems like a ways off, but as missionaries, we often find ourselves having to think years ahead as we juggle living between two countries.  Thanks for your prayers!
