OBERG PRAISE N PRAY – September 17, 2007

PRAISE God for a great Field Leadership Retreat!  Kevin says it was a good time of encouragement and reflection, of focusing on our plan and strategy for the mission as a whole, and of looking to the future and setting some good goals.  Thank you for praying—please PRAY as the FLT goes about implementing the decisions that were made.  PRAY that God would give us all guidance as we each seek to do His will in our lives and ministries.

PRAISE God for the new “head of the house” who committed his life to Christ recently in Banzon (who we wrote about last week).  He is faithful in church and is meeting regularly with Pastor Francois for discipleship.  Please PRAY that his whole family will come to Christ!

Please PRAY for Kevin as he makes a trip to Samorogouan on Tuesday to meet with the mayor regarding purchasing land in that village for the pastor’s house and church.  A spot has already been picked out—please PRAY that everything will go smoothly and that everyone involved will be honest and upright in all their dealings.

Please PRAY for Kevin as he gets ready to head to the States for a fall tour this coming Sunday!  He will be speaking in Alliance churches in WA (Richland, Yakima, Bainbridge Island) and in OR (Dallas, Hillsboro).  (Email if you want a detailed schedule.)  Please PRAY that he will have safety in travel, that he will connect well with the churches and be able to share all that God has put on his heart, that his times with family and friends will be special, and that it will be a wonderful month for him.  Please PRAY for Bonnie and the kids as they remain behind in Burkina, that all will go smoothly and that everyone will stay healthy and happy.  :o)

Peggy Drake and Jetty Stouten, our CMA nurses report that this is the worst time of the year for malaria—lots of mosquitoes are buzzing around after such a good rainy season.  Please PRAY for them as they work in their clinic, that they would have wisdom with each case of illness and that God would give them many open doors to share His love.  Please PRAY for our little Emma, who has bad sores on her legs due to mosquito bites getting infected and a “bad microbe” taking over.  She feels fine, but it sure looks disgusting!

Please PRAY that we will be able to sell our “old” Land Cruiser to help cover the cost of customs for bringing in the new one.  There is a missionary interested in Ouaga—please PRAY that this vehicle will sell quickly and for a fair price for everyone involved.
