OBERG PRAISE N PRAY – August 15, 2007

Please PRAY for our field forum (annual meeting for Burkina CMA missionaries), which starts today (Wed) and will continue until Sunday.  Please pray that our time together will be encouraging, and that we will be spiritually challenged by messages from the Word from Rev. Tim Allen (who traveled here with his wife, Suzie, from the States).  Please pray for good health (half of us got food poisoning last year, if you recall!), for safety in traveling, and that our meeting times will bring glory to God and unite us as we are serving Him in Burkina.  The youth and kids will have special programs as well (in fact, a team of 3 from Salem, OR, are coming out to work with the youth!  Go PNW District!!)  :o)  Bonnie will give a bookkeeper’s presentation (complete with awards and prizes) on Friday morning—pray that she will communicate clearly.

PRAISE God that our new Land Cruiser is out of customs and is actually being driven to Bobo as I write this!!!  Thank you so much for praying!  The correct paperwork was found, and we don’t have to pay any fines!  Please pray that our old Land Cruiser will sell quickly, and that it will be sold for an amount that will cover the cost of customs on the new rig.

PRAISE God for a great missionary celebration on Aug. 5th!  It was encouraging to see the vision the Bobo district has in reaching out to the Kenedougou region, and the “commissioning” service for Pastor Samuel and his wife was a joyful occasion.

Please PRAY for trips Kevin will be making next week to the Kenedougou region.  He will be hauling a huge tent out to Ndorola for Pastor Samuel’s “installation” service on Aug. 26th, building a hangar next to Pastor Samuel’s house for the church to meet in regularly (since the pastor’s house will no longer be available, praise the Lord!), and traveling to Sirasso to meet with Pastor Marcel and encourage the believers there.

PRAISE God there is water in the well in Sirasso!  Kevin took a fan and solar panel out to push fresh air down into the well, and several believers in the church were able to finish digging it!  (They had to dig down 100 feet to hit water—incredible!)

Please PRAY for the start of the “Oberg Home School”!  Daniel (4th grade), Jacob (2nd), and Abby (K) begin classes on Monday, Sept. 20th.  PRAY that we will settle into a good routine early on, and that Bonnie will have wisdom and creative ideas as she teaches them.  (More to come on this—it’s going to be a fun year!)

Please PRAY for Bonnie and her bookkeeping as she is finishing up setting everything up for our new fiscal year.  PRAY for our field leadership team as they make hard decisions about budget cuts that need to be made.
