OBERG PRAISE N PRAY – July 9, 2007

*Due to busy bookkeeping and a family vacation, the next Praise N Pray is slated for the beginning of August.  We will be out of email contact the 16th-28th.  Thanks for praying for us!

PRAISE God as we continue to move forward in getting a pastor in Ndorola!  We are excited to see the initiative that the National Church is taking—they desire to make this a “missionary endeavor” and are planning a big party in Bobo Aug 5th to raise awareness and support for this venture.  Please continue to PRAY as the district committee continues to work through issues of who will be sent and how they will go about this task.  The plan is that the pastor will move to Ndorola the end of August—we’ll keep you posted!

PRAISE God for the reports that we are hearing that there are now over 30 believers in Temetemeso!  It is incredible to think that 4 months ago, there were none.  God is at work in this village, and we are so encouraged.  Please PRAY that God would continue to draw more and more people to Himself in the Kenedougou region.

PRAISE God for a new believer in Ndorola!  For two years now, one of the women in the church has faithfully attended most every Sunday with her children.  This past week, her husband made a decision to follow Christ, showed up in church on Sunday, and said that he was committed to attending church faithfully.  It was a joyful Sunday!

Thank you for praying for Bonnie and her bookkeeping.  It’s been crazy, but deadlines have been met and overall, the stress level hasn’t been TOO unbearable—well, the last week in June was a bit insane, but it’s behind me now!  :o)  As one of my encouraging, former bookkeeper colleagues sent in an email, “THINK VACATION!”

Speaking of vacation, our family is leaving Monday, July 16th for a 10 day vacation in Ghana!  We plan to go to a very beautiful resort in Elmina, on the coast.  We’ve had 6 months of extreme business and we’re about ready to fall over—we need a break!  Please PRAY that our time will be very relaxing, that we’ll have safety as we travel, that we’ll all stay healthy, and that this will be just the thing we need to come back feeling refreshed and ready to go!

Our new Land Cruiser is set to arrive in Ghana during the middle of our vacation!  Please PRAY that we will have no problems getting it out of port and across the border into Burkina when we return home.  Our poor current Land Cruiser has been in the shop for three weeks now with a broken axle that we can’t seem to find a replacement part for . . .  The timing of this is looking good . . . .  :o)

PRAISE God that the rains are starting to come.  Please continue to PRAY, as there is still some wondering and speculation about whether or not this will be a good rainy season.

Please PRAY that we will get to the bottom of the paperwork problem for the church property in Ndorola.  We still have not received the final paperwork, and we are getting a bit nervous.  PRAY that we will find out what is happening with this soon, and that we will be able to resolve whatever issue that is holding us up.

Please PRAY as Kevin roofs a big church this Wed-Fri in the Santidougou district, that the work will go well and that there will be safety for all those working on the project.
