OBERG PRAISE N PRAY – June 21, 2007
PRAISE for an extremely encouraging trip to Djengenebougou last weekend for Kevin. Most of those who accepted Christ during the evangelism in February are still attending church, and several new believers have been added to their number since that time. PRAY for Moïse (Moses), the Bible school student studying to become a pastor, and his family, who are there during these months when school is out.
PRAISE that we just found out there has been a pastor chosen for Ndorola! We don’t know who he is yet—Kevin has a meeting with the Bobo district president on Tuesday and will find out then. PRAY that this pastor will be someone who will be a great match for the ministry in Ndorola. Thank you to all those who have been faithfully praying for this need—please continue to PRAY that God would call workers to reap His harvest in the Kenedougou region!
Please PRAY for rain to come to Burkina! The farmers and people here are getting very worried that our rainy season hasn’t hit yet. A pastor stopped by to visit with Kevin today and said that many people in his congregation are fasting and praying for rain. This is turning into a serious situation, as people desperately need to plant their crops very soon!
Please continue to PRAY for Bonnie and her bookkeeping. It is going well, but as you can see from my more “sporadic” communication, life is quite busy for me at the moment.
Please PRAY for our colleagues, Rollo and Joan Royle, who will be returning to the States for retirement next week. They have been very busy with packing up and saying their “goodbyes”. These will be hard goodbyes for us too, as we have gotten to know them quite well during these past two years and they are “Grandpa Rollo” and “Grandma Joan” to our kids. We will miss them greatly!
