OBERG PRAISE N PRAY – May 29, 2007
PRAISE God that the 12 family members of the new believer in Temetemeso have chosen to follow Christ! Pastor Marcel had another opportunity to share with them, and they all responded. Please PRAY that God would bless this family, that their testimony would be strong in the village of Temetemeso, and that they would all grow in their faith. This is SUCH an encouragement to us and to the believers in that area!
PRAISE God for the evangelism campaign at a local church in Bobo that Kevin was able to help out with last week. 12 people accepted Christ during that time—PRAY that they would attend church regularly and grow in their faith.
PRAISE God that we have finally made a decision about our kids’ schooling for this next year. Both options (French school and home school) have positives, but the home school option weighs the most positive for our family at this point in time, and God has given us peace in our hearts that this is the decision that we need to make. It’s been over a month of praying about this decision, and we thank all of you who joined in praying with us—it was not an easy thing to wrestle with, but we thank God for how He has led us.
PRAISE God that the old hunter (who lost his wife several months back, if you recall) is leading his family to Christ! A Muslim daughter (who was estranged from her father several years ago for running off to marry a man without his blessing) has recently received permission from her husband to follow Christ! (We see this as a true miracle!) God has done a mighty work in this family—within the past month, the hunter reconciled with his daughter, forgave her, invited her and her children to come visit him, and now she is following the Jesus road. Incredible!
I just realized that this letter is full of mostly PRAISES about people coming to Christ—can you tell that God is working?? Keep on PRAYING!!
PRAY for our friend Blaise, the school teacher from Katana, who is getting married on Thursday. Kevin will be going to his home village Wednesday-Friday, and will be preaching at his wedding. PRAY that Blaise and his new wife will be blessed all of their days together, that God would use them greatly for His work, and that they would be a wonderful example of a Christian marriage in their village. PRAY that the financial and social pressures facing Blaise during these days would not be overwhelming, and that God would give him the means and wisdom for everything he is dealing with right now.
