OBERG PRAISE N PRAY – May 22, 2007

PRAISE God for a recent visit that Pastor Marcel and several believers from Katana made to one of the new believers from Temetemeso. They had the opportunity to share with 12 members of this man’s family, and ALL of them are very interested in coming to Christ. Please PRAY that God work bring this entire family to Him!

PRAISE God for a good Sunday school time in Ndorola that Bonnie had with the kids. She was able to communicate in Jula (with encouraging giggles from the kids), and the highlight was coloring a picture about the Bible story. This was the first time that all of these kids have every used crayons, and it was so fun to watch them enjoying it!

Please PRAY for Joseph, a young man who accepted Christ over a year ago in Katana, who has fallen away from his faith. He has some health issues, and although seeing improvement after he became a Christian, was discouraged that he wasn’t completely healed and has abandoned his faith. Since that time, his health has severely deteriorated. Blaise (school teacher) recently visiting with him and Joseph indicated that he wants to follow Christ, but is convinced if he does so, his family will kick him out of their home. Kevin will have an opportunity to meet with him in the next few weeks—pray that he will have words of encouragement for him, and that Joseph will come back to Christ. PRAY that his family will be willing to allow him to do so, and that they will also desire to follow Jesus.

Please PRAY for an evangelism campaign that Kevin will be helping out with here in Bobo on Thursday and Friday nights. PRAY that many people will attend and respond to the good news of Christ.

Please PRAY for several of the new believers in Ndorola, who will be taking difficult school exams soon. When school finishes this year, they will be going to work with their families in the fields and will not be able to come to church for 2-3 months. PRAY that they will remain strong in their faith and continue to grow.

Please continue to PRAY for the decision we have to make regarding schooling for our kids this next year. This week we’ll be meeting with one of our colleagues, who is a Regional Educational Consultant, to discuss our thoughts. PRAY that God will give us wisdom.
