OBERG PRAISE N PRAY – May 7, 2007

PRAISE God for a great Sunday in Ndorola yesterday. Many of the new believers were in attendance, and it is encouraging to see them continuing on in their new faith.

PRAISE God for the upcoming marriage of Blaise (the school teacher in Katana) on May 31st! Without going into the details, because it would take too long to describe it, the whole courtship process out here can get very complicated between the families. Even after being out here 6 years, we still have a poor understanding of what actually has to take place for a wedding to happen. We thought we would give you this update about Blaise—he is still the key person behind the ministry taking place in Katana. Please continue to remember him in prayer as he encourages the other believers in his village and continues to share his faith with those who have not yet come to Christ.

Please PRAY for the well digging in Sirasso. The well-diggers dug down 48 feet and then up and left because it has been so hot and there are gasses that have accumulated at the bottom of the well that makes it impossible to work. Please PRAY that we will find a solution—there are probably only 10-12 feet left to dig. PRAY for safety for all those involved, and that this well will be a testimony to the village—not only the success of digging it, but also the gift of water to the neighbors around it once it is finished.

Please PRAY, PRAY, PRAY for our Jula studies! After taking 2 months off from our studies due to visitors and the intense evangelism schedule we had, we are now back into it again. Learning Jula is going to be crucial to our ministry in the Kenedougou region—please PRAY that God would greatly bless us as we study and that we would be able to speak fluently in this language one day (please, God, sooner rather than later!). I must add that we’ve been encouraged that we haven’t lost too much with the two month break, which is a PRAISE. Please PRAY for Kevin to find one more good language conversation partner to help him.

And, as always, PRAY for pastors for the Kenedougou region! The need is great!
