OBERG PRAISE N PRAY – March 26, 2007
(This Praise N Pray will cover the next two weeks, due to lots going on and trips being made, which means lots for you to pray about, too! :o)
PRAISE God for a good evangelism campaign trip this past week. There wasn’t a big response in the two villages—only one man responded and made a commitment to Christ. But God impressed on Kevin’s heart during that time that the Shepherd in the Bible left the flock to go searching for the one lost sheep, and this one man WAS that one lost sheep. Now he is found! Please pray that those who heard the saving message of Jesus will continue to think about what they have heard, and that Pastor Marcel and other believers in surrounding villages will have many opportunities to follow up in this area.
PRAISE God that Bonnie didn’t get pulled over by the Bobo police once this past week! (I just had to put that in!) :o)
PRAY for the youth camp that will take place in Ndorola this week. It starts on Tuesday and ends Saturday morning. There is no way to really know at this point, but they are expecting around 150 youth to attend from the Bobo district (which includes the Kenedougou region). Each night, there will be evangelism taking place for the entire village of Ndorola to attend. Please cover this week with your prayers, that God will reach many in Ndorola for Him, and that the youth who attend will grow in their faith. There will also be several outreach events in the village as well that the youth will be organizing. Please pray for all those who will be speaking (including Kevin, Wednesda morning, on the importance of praying for the lost), that God would use their messages to penetrate the hearts of those attending the meetings. Please pray that all the logistical details of running a camp will go smoothly, that sound equipment will work, and that this week will change the hearts of many people.
Please PRAY for our friend, Jules, and for his wife, who has been wavering in her faith and for whom you have been praying for many months now. PRAISE God that yesterday she attended church in Ndorola for the first time in two years and that she has asked Jules for a Bible. She will be involved in the activities during the camp—pray that God will speak to her heart this week and that she will see her need for a Savior and surrender her life to Jesus.
Please PRAY for the final evangelism campaign for this season, April 5th-9th. This will be held in the villages of Nangorla and Flakayiri (if the chief gives permission). If permission is not granted, the team will most likely return to Temetemeso, where there was a great hunger for the gospel and where many people want to know more about following the “Jesus Road”.
PRAISE God that Bonnie’s parents are coming out for a month visit! She will be driving to Ouaga on Sunday to pick them up from the airport at 2:30 am! Please PRAY that they will be healthy during their visit and that God will greatly bless our time together.
We ask if you would please continue to PRAY for Kevin’s dad—he had his first cancer chemo treatment this past week, and it seems like it went fairly well. Please continue to PRAY that God would touch his body. He will have another treatment in a couple of weeks, and then a cat scan in 5 weeks to see how everything is going.
