OBERG PRAISE N PRAY – March 19, 2007

PRAISE God for a good evangelism campaign this past week! Kevin and Steve Nehlsen, our field director, had an excellent time in the bush and both of them came back encouraged at all God is doing. The first village (Temetemeso) had 5 men make decisions for Christ, and there is a huge hunger by the people in that village to know more. We know that God has great plans for this village as believers continue to share their faith and as we do future evangelism there. One man came and woke Steve up at 2:30 in the morning because he couldn’t sleep until he prayed to receive Christ! Please PRAY for these 5 men, that they will grow in their new faith and that many more people will come to Christ in the days to come.

The second village of Tina was quite a different story. There was very little response and the people there seem very closed to the gospel message. But, we know that seeds have been planted and our prayer is that one day, this village will also be eager to know more about Jesus. Please join us in praying for this village.

PRAISE that Kevin is feeling much better—he had three days this weekend between campaigns to get caught up on some sleep and is ready to go again tomorrow (Monday)! Please PRAY that God will continue to grant him strength, energy, and good health during these days in the bush.

Please PRAY for the 4 night evangelism campaign this week, one village being Siginaso and the second one undetermined at this point. We were hoping to have permission from the chief of Flakayiri to have evangelism take place in his village, but permission has not yet been granted. If we can’t go into Flakayiri, they might have the evangelism take place in Katana (where there is an established group of believers) or in Temetemeso again. Please PRAY that God would guide and pave the way for where He knows is best.

Please continue to PRAY for Bonnie and the kids as they are busy at home while Kevin is away. PRAY that the boys will enjoy going to school and will continue to grow in their understanding and abilities to use French. PRAY that Bonnie will have extra energy and patience as she takes care of the kids, chauffeurs the boys back and forth to school, gets pulled over by the Bobo police (yes, that is still happening all the time!), and continues on with all her other duties. We are now in HOT SEASON—seems like it happened overnight this past week, and so are also getting used to hot and muggy weather. That in itself is exhausting, so please pray for that extra measure of “oomph” that we need during these hottest months of the year.
