Psalm 118:14-15, 23-29 NLT. The Lord is God shining upon us.
Bring forward the sacrifice and put it on the altar.
This is the Lord's doing and it is marvelous to see.
Why do we not dare to believe that we have heard from God?
Why do we doubt our own ability to listen?
Why do we not believe that He wants to do for us more than
we can ask or think?
Today was a great example of God saying: "See, Elaine, I tried
to tell you.
On November 4, 2006 God gave me the theme for our 2007 India
trip: SPREADING LOVE -- CHANGING LIVES --
Lifting Up Jesus and Drawing All People Unto Him.
I wrote all the team members that I believe God wanted us to come
and equip leaders and encourage pastors and village evangelists; as
well as to empower women and children's teachers; and to love the
children.
Well, I could see how all was fitting together except the teach pastors
and evangelists part, because of some of the men in leadership here
are from a Brethren background and do not believe that women should
teach men. So today's meeting was scheduled to be a pastor's and
evangelists wives meeting. HOWEVER, we we went to the banquet hall
at 10 AM -- it was not women that greeted us but a room FULL of men.
Approximately 55 men and 10 women assembled. And the original message
God had given Lauren and I about LOVE and RELATIONSHIP (Ephesians
5:1-3 and Phil.1:9-11) was preached with great power by Rev. Lauren Myers
(church planting pastor with her husband at First Assembly of God in
FLorida City, just outside Miami).
When she sat down, I felt the strong presence of God with us and God
directed me us to have a prayer altar and time for healing prayer. First
only one lady came forward, but that broken the ice and they were soon
coming by dozens for prayer, for healing, for anointing with oil, for so
many needs. With tears, with prayers, with interpretations, God was truly
in that place.
Carol followed with a counseling talk and Tamara shared her testimony.
Then we served a South Indian Lunch to all that assembled...and invited
all to talk with us concerning their questions.
Last night God provided a divine appointment with Aneesh and he sent a
camera crew today to film Lauren preaching. He has agreed to work on a
marketing demo tape for her speaking ministry and for their church. I only
wish I'd thought sooner to have him filming all of the activities of the WIN
INDIA team. But we can save that for our next trip.
Spiritual Warfare here is great and apparent. I learned at the end of the
service today that someone vandalized our new church after the dedication
on Sunday and they tore down the beautiful red cross that Pastor Dhanroj had
handmade and put on the top of the church building. Of course i will give him
money to replace it.
Carol, Tamara, and Nicole had a little scary situation on the way to the counseling
center yesterday. Fortunately, all of Nicole's training for living abroad kicked in and
she knew exactly how to respond to prevent any harm. The girls were all bragging
about how in control of everything she was. But it points up once again that we must
never let down our prayer support for our dear ones working here.
At the lunch today, the YMCA director said that the people he sent to attend the
Writers Workshop want to make a book of all our teaching and handouts and distribute
the book to all of the YMCAs in India. WOW! Once again God is taking our little efforts
and multiplying them in ways we could not imagine. What a strong witness all of our
Christian teachings and examples would become.
Two more full days and we're coming home. We are turning down so many invites and
pleas to come speak to groups. it makes us wonder if we should have stayed longer. But
there is always another time.
Keep praying for India -- today's headlines were startling: 7 Baby Girls found starved to
death in village. Girls are not valuable here and cost a family too much money to get them
married off, so this is the sad end of way too many precious lives Christ died for.
love and prayers to all of you,
